Hop-On Hop-Off Gozo Route Map
View the full bus route and all stops. One loop covers Victoria, Marsalforn, Xlendi, Ġgantija, and more.
The Route in a Nutshell
The Hop-On Hop-Off Gozo bus runs a single circular route around the island. There is no separate “outbound” and “return” line: one bus follows the loop continuously, so you can board at any stop and get off at any other stop. The full loop takes roughly 90 minutes if you stay on the bus without getting off. Most passengers use the service to visit two or three stops in a day—for example Victoria (Citadel), a beach, and Ġgantija Temples.
The route is designed to pass through the main tourist areas. You will see coastal roads, villages, and countryside. Stops are placed near landmarks, beaches, and transport links. Our stops guide describes what to see at each one. For bus times, see the timetable.
Where the Bus Goes
The loop typically starts from a central point (often near the ferry or Victoria) and runs in one direction. The bus passes through Victoria (Ir-Rabat), the island capital and home to the Citadel; Marsalforn, a popular coastal village with a sandy bay and restaurants; Xlendi, a compact bay with swimming and diving; and Ġgantija, the ancient temple complex. Other stops may include Ramla Bay, Xagħra, and Nadur, depending on the operator and season. The exact order of stops can vary, so refer to the current timetable and any map provided when you travel.
How to Use the Map
Use the route map to decide where you want to hop off. If you are interested in history, plan stops at the Citadel in Victoria and at Ġgantija. For beaches, consider Marsalforn, Xlendi, or Ramla Bay. For villages and views, Xagħra and Nadur are often included. Once you know your preferred stops, check the timetable to see how often the bus passes. Your ticket is valid for unlimited travel on the route for the whole day, so you can change your plan and hop on or off as you go.
Planning Your Day
A practical approach is to ride the full loop once without getting off. That way you see the island and the exact stops. Then, on the second loop (or later in the day), hop off at the places that interest you most. Allow at least 45–60 minutes at the Citadel and 1–2 hours at Ġgantija if you want to visit the temples. Beaches and villages can take as little as 30 minutes or as long as a full afternoon. Keep the timetable handy so you know when the next bus is due; in peak season services are more frequent.
